The Privacy Line on About: Why the Privacy Policy Remains the Full Reference

The About page is a short entry point; the Privacy Policy is the full reference.

1 About gives orientation; Privacy gives detail

The Translation Input Method About page uses short language to explain product and privacy posture, but the full Privacy Policy remains the reference before download.

The About page says the software is a third-party translation input tool and states, in line with the Privacy Policy, that keyboard input is not collected for model training or ad profiling. That sentence is useful, but it is not the whole policy.

The Privacy Policy covers information users provide, automatically collected information, information not collected, use of information, and retention wording. To judge data handling, read the full page.

About: understand product positioning and contact entries.
Privacy Policy: review information categories, uses, and handling wording.
Disclaimer: understand translation output and third-party service boundaries.
Download: verify the current public release.

2 Do not expand one line into a promise list

If an article turns one About-page sentence into “no information is ever processed in any situation,” it has gone beyond the source text. A more accurate article sends users back to the Privacy Policy.

Custom dictionaries, feedback, online translation, and networked features each need to be read with their own current wording.

This article does not add deletion flows, certifications, compliance frameworks, or unpublished data-handling mechanisms.

3 A reasonable reading order before download

For a first impression, start with About. Before installing, open Download and verify the current version. For privacy, feedback, or custom dictionary questions, continue to the Privacy Policy.

For legal, copyright, or trademark questions, the legal/compliance email on About is a clue, but the Legal Notice is the more formal entry.

FAQ

Can the privacy line on About replace the Privacy Policy?

No. The About page is useful for a quick product and privacy summary, but the Privacy Policy contains the detailed wording on information categories, use, and boundaries.

Does the About line mean no data handling is involved in any scenario?

No. Read it together with the Privacy Policy, offline and online notes, and custom dictionary wording.

Can the About contact emails be used for legal questions?

The About page lists general and legal/compliance emails, but legal questions should also be read with the Legal Notice page.

Verify the current release and policy notes before downloading
