Translation Input Method Not Working After Install
Separate the symptom, then check session reload, input source, plain text fields, and the download source.
1 Identify what “not working” means
Post-install failure can mean several different things: the app does not open, the input source is missing, switching works but candidates do not appear, or only one app fails.
Naming the symptom clearly saves time. “Not in the language bar” points to installation or loading. “Switches but no candidates” points to input state or candidate window behavior.
Simplify the test environment before changing settings. Do not judge the first run inside remote desktop, a game, full-screen tools, or a browser profile full of extensions.
2 Use this post-install check order
Do not run the installer again and again. Let the system load the input source, then check permissions and the app environment.
If you record each step, you will know where the problem stopped even if you eventually reinstall.
Sign out or restart once
Input method components may need the system session to reload. Restart or sign out before judging the installation.
Check whether the input source appears
Open the system input method list. If Translation Input Method is missing, return to the platform install guide and verify the install path.
Test a short phrase in a plain field
Use Notepad, Notes, or a browser address bar. Do not use a long technical paragraph for the first test.
Verify the download source
If restarting does not help, open the download page and current release page, then confirm the platform file before reinstalling.
3 When to stop changing settings
If the platform file looks wrong or you cannot verify where the installer came from, stop changing system permissions and replace the installer with a source you can verify.
On a managed work computer, do not bypass policy. Collect your system version, download source, install prompt, and the exact step that failed for your administrator.

FAQ
Common reasons include the system not loading the new input source yet, app-level blocking, permissions not taking effect, or a platform file that does not match your system.
If the input source does not appear or candidates do not respond, signing out or restarting is often safer than running the installer repeatedly.
No. An input method handles keyboard input, so unknown repair packages are a bigger risk than the original issue. Use the download page and current release page instead.
Check before you install
Before installing, open the download page and verify the current release, platform notes, and file availability. If something behaves oddly, check the FAQ next.
